Join us to learn how to build a fair lending program at your bank. Tory Haggerty, a former FDIC examiner and creator of his very own Fair Lending School, will take you through four key areas of building, managing, and reviewing a fair lending program. We will start by focusing on your Compliance Management System. Every part of your fair lending program has CMS elements, and we will show you ways to strengthen yours. Next, we will cover how to review your bank and determine your fair lending risk. Every bank is different, and you need to know how to find the risk areas specific to your institution. We will then take a deep dive into underwriting risk. We will talk about different underwriting programs, the likely underwriting criteria your lenders are using, and how to review for a mitigate risk. We finish off with teaching you everything you need to know about policy exceptions. What they are, how to track them, and how to review your data for negative trends. Tory will provide you with portions of his fair lending manual that gives you tips, tricks, and instructions on how to review your own program. You will walk away with a much better perspective on how examiners view fair lending, and you will be able to start implementing simple strategies to strengthen your fair lending program. This one-of-a-kind fair lending workshop will help banks of all sizes.

We will be covering four key components to managing and reviewing a fair lending program.
  • Setting up your Compliance Management System
  • Reviewing Your Program and Assessing Risk
  • Underwriting Risk
  • Tracking and Managing Policy Exceptions
